Christopher P. Kowal, Senior Analyst -
Mr. Kowal is a senior analyst with over ten years experience in the fields of GIS, remote sensing, and software application development. Mr. Kowal has been instrumental in developing a number of cutting edge web based software and database applications including real-time biosurveillance and collaborative incident management systems. In addition, Mr. Kowal is responsible for the design and creation of several multimedia based training, engineering, and environmental awareness presentations for both government and private sector clients. Mr. Kowal is a former land surveyor with expertise in aerial and satellite image processing and analysis. Prior to working at Pangaea Mr. Kowal was employed at Argonne National Laboratory at the Center for Environmental Restoration Systems where he applied his expertise in GIS and remote sensing to environmental management issues. Mr. Kowal is a multitalented individual and has earned recognition and awards for his work and research in the fields of environmental sustainability and land development, as well as for computer application development. Mr. Kowal holds degrees in Civil Engineering Technology and Land Surveying, Geography, and a Master's in Urban Planning and Policy. Mr. Kowal is a member of the American Planning Association (APA)'s Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy Division and has published several articles for the APA and other organizations.
